Allow me to introduce myself…

Editor-in-Chief

For most people, introductions are usually awkward and this introduction is no different. I’m April Wynn, 2008-2009 editor-in-chief of The Skyliner. I like Lunchables, laughing and springtime; well that’s enough about me.

My involvement with The Skyliner began as a lowly freshman when I had to archive all the old Skyliners for work-study. I have been on the actual Skyliner staff since 2006 where my first story was to cover a volleyball game. Sadly, this is where my career as a sports writer began and ended; my sincerest apologies to the volleyball team. Over the next few semesters I developed a column, “Her Two Cents.” Last year I was the advertising manager and helped with the layout and design of the paper faithfully every Monday evening.

Besides the occasional missed deadline, I have loved every crazy minute of working with this paper and hopefully as editor, this year will be no exception.

I could express to you that this year will be so much different than years past with The Skyliner but that is entirely false. This year will be like every other year in that we will be working to report all university events and occasionally bring the world to Tigerville as it relates to our campus. We welcome student involvement, so feel free to drop by the publications office with any ideas you may have for us to share with you in print.

Jimmy Breslin said, “A job on a newspaper is a special thing. Every day you take something that you found out about, and you put it down and in a matter of hours it becomes a product. Not just a product like a can or something.” This year I hope that you will enjoy each product that my staff and I bring to you every Wednesday after chapel.
