Harrison dominates the inside

On Feb. 16, the Crusaders traveled to Charleston, S.C., to take on Division I-AA opponent Charleston Southern. North Greenville shot 45 percent from three-point range but had an abundance of turnovers leading to a 94-65 trouncing by the Buccaneers.
Paul Harrison, sophomore sport management, and Jimmy Ellis, freshman undecided, each finished the game with 11 points to lead the Crusader offense.
The Crusaders ended their road trip when they took on Limestone College in Gaffney, S.C., on Feb. 18. North Greenville shot well once again but dropped a heartbreaker 80-76.
Luke Lattimer, freshman sport management, continued his strong play as he finished the game with 16 points. Ellis scored a career-high 15 points in the game going a perfect five for five from beyond the arc while Zack Shields hit four three-pointers and had 14 points.
North Greenville returned home on Feb. 19 to take on Hiwassee College. The Crusaders set a team record for points and broke their four-game losing streak with a 118-105 victory.
Harrison asserted himself in the paint, leading to a 40-point, 14-rebound, double-double performance. Jamaal Pryor, freshman sport management, gave North Greenville a spark off the bench, finishing the game with 16 points.
The Crusaders defeated Morris College on Feb. 20 in Hayes Gymnasium for the team’s second win in as many days. North Greenville shot an even 50 percent from the field for the 79-67 win.
Harrison recorded his second straight double-double finishing with 32 points and 13 rebounds. Lattimer was the only other Crusader to finish in double figures as he scored 17 points in the game.
The Crusaders played Monday against Anderson University and last night against Carver College. North Greenville’s next game will come in the NCCAA South Regional Tournament on March 8-10 in Palm Beach, Fla.
