Looking for an affordable alternative to “caf” food? Jorja’s Pizza opens its doors just in time for the fall semester. Jorja’s is the place to go, and it’s less than two miles from campus.

Tommy Kelly, a Travelers Rest local, fulfilled his lifelong dream when he opened Jorja’s Pizza in July.

“He’s wanted to own a pizza restaurant since he was a little kid,” says Betty Gremling, Kelly’s mother.

Jorja’s, named after Kelly’s daughter, offers a variety of pizzas and calzones, along with other reasonably priced foods such as Buffalo wings, salads and burgers.

The restaurant is located in the retail center on the corner of Highway 414 and Campbell Mill Road. Look for the white “Open” signs on either side of the parking lot entrance.

Jorja’s offers a relaxed atmosphere complete with pool tables and arcade-style video games, making it the perfect place to hang out. Free wi-fi is also available to all customers.

In addition to great accommodations, Jorja’s serves high quality pizza, made to order from 100 percent fresh ingredients and hand-tossed crust, making Jorja’s pizza some of the most mouthwatering around.

Though all of this sounds great, it is more than likely that you are only thinking about one thing: the price. But you can put your mind to rest. Jorja’s menu is made complete by low prices that are practical for a college budget.

Twelve inch pizzas, which serve from one to two people (depending on how hungry you are), start at just $5.50. If you are with a group, large pizzas start at $9.75.

Jorja’s has a variety of specialty pizzas, including Taco Sombrero, Vegetarian, Philly Steak and Hawaiian Delight. All of these range from $6-$12 for a small and $1-$19 for a large.

As an added bonus, the garlic bread knots are inexpensive and delicious. They make a great appetizer or add-on.

Although Jorja’s has been officially opened for several weeks, it is hosting its grand opening soon. Look for updates as you stop in the restaurant.

Also, Jorja’s has company pages listed on Facebook and Twitter. Upcoming events can be found on these pages, along with reviews by other students and upstate locals.

“We want to serve the community and every age group,” says Gremling, who is a proud mother and employee at Jorja’s.

Jorja’s is an awesome restaurant and place to hang out. Make a trip out there, and you will not be disappointed.
